Constantino Jordan - Constantino Jordan studied Business Management, Finance and Marketing at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He worked as a management consultant and project manager until 1992 before becoming the third generation of his family involved with property development by joining his father at the André Jordan Group – the most acclaimed development company in Southern Europe. As an executive board member, Constantino was involved with the development of Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura, Europe´s benchmark resorts.
Constantino’s responsibilities were in key areas such as concept development, master planning, marina and golf course development, project management, implementation and launching, resort management, event management, marketing and sales.
At Quinta do Lago, founded by André Jordan, he was responsible for areas including concept developing, branding, commercial launching, marketing and sales of resorts such as Vilar do Golf (180 units) and Monte da Quinta (185 units and 600 bed suite hotel)
At Vilamoura, Europe’s largest private holiday destination, he served on the various companies of the group, being mainly responsible for the areas of resort and product development, marketing and sales. This included the rebranding of the resort, turn-around of the Marina business, and development of the golf portfolio, which added the Arnold Palmer Victoria Golf Course and The Residences at Victoria Golf Course (a luxury Resort with 145 two and three bedroom apartments).
During this time, the André Jordan Group became the first developer in the world to have 3 courses listed in the ‘Golf Digest Top 100 Courses Outside the U.S.’
As the Executive Board Director of the Marina of Vilamoura (Portugal´s largest with 1000 berths) Constantino implemented changes to the harbour operation, financial planning, service range, and management, which led to the first profitable year in its history. The Marina went on to be a consistent high-two-digit cash generator, with equally high customer satisfaction. During this time he also served as President of the Portuguese Marinas Association, a group of 25 operational facilities.
When the Group decided to back up its commitment to the environment with the highly respected ISO certifications, Constantino was an executive leader in the Group’s implementation of ISO 9001, quality management, and ISO 14001, environmental management, standards for the golf courses (a global first) and for the marina and beaches at Vilamoura (a first for Portugal and one of first in Europe). The creation of a private Nature Park of 250ha (600acres), was a further commitment to the environmental cause.
Constantino is a member of the Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization whose mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. ULI members commit to the best in land use policy and practice.
